True was the perfect venue for 6 adults, a two year old, six year old and 1 vegetarian.
Although they didn’t have a kid menu or crayons, the four cheeses pizza was a hit. For parents that are concern with what their kids eat, the pizza is made with organic crust. You get a choice of white, spelt or whole wheat.
Across from our table was a bigger group with even more kids of varies age; which made us felt really comfortable. Most kid friendly restaurants are chains related, so it’s refreshing to be able to din in a nice restaurant that it’s okay to bring kids.
While it’s not our first time dining at True, I noticed their menu has been updated. We ordered a few appetizers to share, the grilled calamari, shrimp, sea scallops and the flat bread with hummus and cheese dips – all came with a side salad. On top of that, we also had the daily seafood platter that included pan-seared sea bream fillet with sesame. The kids really enjoyed the shrimp and flatbread with the dips.
Everyone ordered their own drinks; there were organic wines and beers around the table. The kids had apple juice and mommy had their organic juice blended with blackberry and pomegranate that she thought was delicious.
Our vegetarian friend had the vegetarian pizza. The size was very generous; she was only able to finish half the pizza, same with the kids. Take away is packed in an eco-friendly reusable True bag.
Other mains our table had included the rack of lamb, 10oz ribeye steak, seafood capellini and the pasta special. I had the daily fish special – pan-seared sea bream served with an arugula salsa and brown rice. Overall, everyone enjoyed the food and we had a great time. Our friends were really impressed with the amount of seafood in the pasta and that the steak was cooked just to his liking.
To finish off the meal, we had a dessert platter to share, with coffee and tea – just enough sweet to wrap up the evening.
